Abshir’s AstraZeneca Vaccine

I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to the scientific community, with special thanks to the Oxford-AstraZeneca team and medical professionals who through their dedication and research have given me the opportunity to receive today my initial vaccine against the Covid-19 virus. I would actively encourage all those who may have doubt to have the courage to take the vaccine not only for yourself but for your community and loved ones.

Today I travel to my beloved Somalia to continue my fight in the Presidential elections, and with my team we are tirelessly lobbying the international community and organisations, to obtain life saving vaccines for my people at the earliest time possible.

If the world has learnt anything from the Covid-19 crisis it is that we must have a collective responsibility to combat and eliminate this threat to all humanity. Division only leads to a lack of progress in any sphere be it politics or a pandemic. I would then call upon those who advocate tribalism in my country to think again. Together we can with the correct attitude build a framework to succeed where others have failed.

Somalia now needs strong leadership accommodating the will and interests of all Somalis.
